Wow. Just a couple days ago, a devastating earthquake hit Haiti, and has yielded horrific results. Buildings have been destroyed, people have lost their homes, family, friends, hope, and even their lives.
The entire world has been tuning in to the news to see what advancements have been made through relief efforts and programs. Unfortunately, very little has been done. The major airport has been undergone significant damage from the earthquake, making it difficult to enter the country. At this point, there isn't much we can do other than send the people of Haiti our best wishes.
I feel like it's our responsibility to help out the struggling men, women, and children of Haiti. Despite these tough economic times, we, in the U.S., are currently in a far better situation than the Haitians now. Although I can't relate to the losses that they've endured, I can only imagine the difficulties that come with losing your home and family. Being taken out of your comfort zone so dramatically and being subject to such danger seems unbearable, yet the Haitians continue to fight and surprise us with their resiliency.
It's important that we don't simply let this slide out of our attention. We need to help out in any way that we can, as soon as we can. Let me know how you feel about the recent tragedy in Haiti.
